1. Draw a shoe

Draw a shoe

I'm having another stab at EDM. Hopefully I'll last more than the one or two days I managed last time.

I have new paints and pencils to encourage me this time, and some not-too-expensive paper so that I won't be worried about messing up.

Wish me luck!

This is with Derwent Inktense pencils. The shoes aren't really as yellow as this - more a kind of grey-beige - but I'm not sure how to colour mix with watercolour pencils yet.

Well, I'd say you're off to a great start! I love the drawing, and the shoes are really cute ones, too. I would love to have a pair like that! Welcome back! nancy

Lovely dancing shoes, and a great drawing - hope you'll go on with EDM, this time (it should be all about having fun : )!)

Welcome back! Great sketch and love the shoes. I used to wear heels all the time when I was younger, mostly to make up for my shortness. I don't wear them so much anymore, but I have one pair that are special and they make me feel so special when I'm in them.

Your little touches like the sheen on the tops of the shoes and the shadows inside makes this drawing specail! Well done!

Your shoes are really good. I "say" I want to spend more time drawing--but mostly I lurk and look at other drawings--too caught up in mixed media stuff now--good luck on your return to EDM! You are off to a great start!

Feel free to draw anything-there is no rule that you must do the challenges. Great start, however!

Welcome back! I hope you stick around this time, you have so much to offer! Just remember, you don't HAVE to do the challenges in order to participate. I rarely do them, myself. We enjoy seeing all your work. The challenges are just motivation.

I think these are great shoes! Love how you framed them as well. I was about to write exactly what I just noticed that Raena said. I think I would have thrown in the towel a long time ago had I restricted myself to drawing the challenges in order. I have always focused more on the spirit of the thing - that every day things are all around to draw, i.e., something to draw is everywhere that I am! That keeps me sketching! Good luck!
